Season 7 | 2023-2024
The 'National Student Innovation Challenge' (NSIC) is a unique PAN-India contest organised by eVidyaloka and powered by LTIMindtree Foundation. It's a catalyst for student innovation and leadership, guiding Grades 6 to 8 to tailor solutions for unique community challenges.
It embodies a bold vision, brought to life through global volunteers' mentorship. This challenge transcends borders, uniting student advocates from rural to urban areas in a dynamic online space, where ideas spring to life.
NSIC provided the perfect platform for these young students to identify a problem, understand it and find possible solutions. The happy development where the borewell drilling has now been initiated by the local government has given them hope that any problem can be solved if they put their mind to it.

A typical school day at Government Upgraded Middle School, Chachgura, Ranchi begins not with the expected prayer assembly but with the children trekking to a water source more than half a kilometer from their school. They fill up buckets and pots with water and carry them back so the water needs of the students and staff are met. When the National Student Innovation Challenge (NSIC) presented them with an opportunity to work on a United Nations Sustainable Development Goal( UNSDG) relevant to them, Boby and Ajeeth, grade 6 students from this school choose to look into the water supply problem (under UNSDG 6: Clean water and Sanitation).
